Tight Lines – 9th of December
December 11, 2023

Welcome to this week’s edition of Tight Lines

First up this week for the Roe Abalone lovers, tomorrow morning Saturday the 8th of December is the first 1-hour window you have to gather yourself some tasty Abs. Remember, only between the hours of 7 and 8am, with the minimum size for Roe Abalone in the West Coast region being 60mm, and an individual Daily bag limit of 15 per person for licenced fishos.

Our local freshwater scene is still producing some nice Rainbow and brown trout. Troy and Tim having one of the best sessions for the season earlier in the week.

Our Estuary if providing lots of options with a hand full of size crabs for the early fisho’s. Plus, plenty of entertainment for the light tackle anglers. With Herring, Whiting and a few robust Flounder, not hesitating at all to attack surface lures.

Our White’s run is progressing fast, my best suggestion is to get your pots out in 22 to 24mtrs, fingers crossed we will see if some more movement as the swell subsides again from this Sunday onwards.

For our offshore fishos we are seeing consistent current flow from the North, bringing with it warmer clearer water, this warmer clearer water holds bait and predators. Pelagic predators. With Yellow fin tuna being caught around Rotto during the week.

Speaking of Summer pelagic action check out the cool little Bonito William landed During the week, making the most of ever minute on the water and a quick snapshot has given him the opportunity to be the winner of this weeks 50 $ Tackle World Miami Voucher.

Wherever you get the chance to wet a line this weekend as always good luck tight lines and remember every day’s a good day for fishing.
