Welcome to this week’s edition of Tight lines.
Today, we are coming to you from the banks of the Swan River where a quick catch up with Tim Farnell informs me that the Swan is still producing Mulloway and Flathead in the lower reaches, with good tailor throughout the whole system.
Offshore this week, good luck to the fleet participating in the Fremantle Sailing Clubs 45th Blue Marlin Classic. With good currents pushing down over the past 7 days fingers crossed for some solid hookups.
The Metro and Mandurah Fads have held good Dollies. with some Wahoo getting about as well. BlueFin Tuna have been better through the 30 to 40 metre mark.
Now how’s this for a classic catch, the iconic Busselton jetty and Spanish Mackerel are two words not often used in the same sentence but for Oscar this week it all came together landing himself a cracking Spanish Mack off the old timber.
Inshore our Beaches have held 50cm plus Tailor consistently. And we are seeing some larger Mulloway for those anglers that put in that little extra time. Local crabs are at their best with tasty and full crabs consistent for scoopers and drop netters. And Whiting along our beaches are still good early in the morning.
Wherever you get the chance to wet a line this long weekend stay safe, good luck, tight lines and remember every day’s a good day for fishing.
