Welcome to this week’s edition of Tight Lines, the Tackle World Miami Weekly Fishing Report.
Tackle World Miami and our weekly fishing report is your go-to source for the latest fishing conditions across Mandurah, Dawesville, Falcon, and the greater Peel region. From offshore action and beach sessions to estuary systems like the Harvey and Murray rivers, we’ve got the local insights to help you plan your next trip and keep your lines tight.
It’s Winter, but there is a dash of the upcoming Spring starting to sprinkle throughout our week.
If you do manage to align a day off and a weather window, there are some nice fish to be had. Offshore we are seeing some nice Blue Fin Tuna buzzing around the 26 to 30mtr line. Through this area we are seeing some nice King George whiting as well. It may sound a bit mad but a paternoster rig with a squid jig on the top and a whiting hook on the bottom is what I use through this area as it can hold some cracking squid at depth.
Closer to the back of the five fathoms we are seeing nice fat sand whiting mixed thru the King George, this is the broken ground off the back of the rubble thru to approx. the 24mtr mark.
Up on the structure we have some great winter Skippy, a whole lot of fun with a simple anchor and light burley technique.
Light gear twitching a Roven micro jig or soft plastic will give you hours of fun and a nice feed. At times we see a mix of blue Mackerel and the occasional Yellow Tail king fish turning up in the burley trail as well just to spice things up a bit.
The Beaches should be good for Pink snapper and Tailor after the blow and swell. It should pass quickly leaving reasonable conditions for the weekend.
Rock walls are still offering Herring and Tailor plus to occasional Squid when the water is clearer.
Our Estuary is on the edge of turning for the better with a handful of whiting getting around. Fish the cleaner pockets of water for best success. The rivers are still worth a run for Black Bream; they have actually been the best they have been for years.
Wherever you get the chance this week as always good luck tight lines and remember every day’s a good day for fishing.
