Welcome to this week’s edition of Tight Lines!

With the Easter school holidays on our doorstep, the Autumn weather and fishing this time of year is simply endless.
Offshore Pelagic action has continued to be strong with Dolphin fish and the odd Spanish Mackerel being landed. For those looking for the ultimate pelagic action the Rottnest Trench is still proving a strong Marlin Bite with several raised fish on most sessions.
Offshore Demersals have also been strong with a good bite producing solid Dhufish, Breaksea and Snapper over the past 7 days. With the Lewin current starting to push a little harder the water clarity has cleaned up little helping Oceans legacy jigs do their thing and get the bites.

It’s full Moon week this week which is a good phase for late arvo and early evening Tailor. The Tailor along our Beaches, Rock walls and Estuary System are fantastic, and this time of year offers some of the bigger sized fish that we will see for the season.
Our Estuary Herring, Skippy and Juvenile salmon are actively looking for the clearer pockets of water and cast light metal slices or surface lures on light tackle for a world of fun.

Crabs are still an option in our estuary as well and while the water temp is slowly falling a good feed is still on offer which is fantastic for April. Off the back of this full moon phase cray pots are a good option as well as the inshore Reds have been plentiful under the right conditions.
And if you’re off on a road trip this Easter the Salmon are certainly starting to migrate West along our South Coast. Keep the sand between your toes, avoid the rocks, and enjoy this fun land based sports fishing species.

Wherever you get the chance this weekend as always good luck tight lines and remember every day’s a good day for fishing.
