Welcome To This Week’s Edition Of Tight Lines
What a week of local fishing and as we get deeper into Spring it’s only getting better.
Inshore Snapper have been at their best with fish over 90cm being caught in as little as 12 metres of water. Anchor away from structure, burley up, and cast back towards the structure with unweighted baits for tight lines. Remember the demersal season closes at Midnight Monday the 14th of October so make the most of this weekend.
Crays are also active so get your pots out onto the reef to make the most of them before they go into a moult phase for the whites run.
Beaches we have seen some nice Tailor over 50cm both South and North of town.
Rivers we have seen good Bream and mulloway action up the Serpentine and Murray.
Estuary, Rock walls and groins, the warmer weather and cleaner water is all starting to happen and so is the fishing. We are seeing the start of good Tailor in the system, Herring are in good numbers, there are still a few Skippy getting about, plus juvenile Salmon for light tackle fun.
But it’s the whiting catches on surface and vibe lures during the week that has light tackle flats fishers excited. While the temps only just getting up to 25 degrees it’s been enough to stimulate a nice bite with solid fish getting about.
Wherever you get the chance to wet a line this weekend as always, good luck tight lines, and remember every day’s a good day for fishing.
