Tight Lines – 13 March, 2025
March 13, 2025

Welcome To This Week’s Edition of Tight Lines

Autumn weather is kicking in and one of the best times of the year for fishing is upon us. Offshore we are seeing some exciting activity in the Pelagic scene. Spanish Mackerel continue to taunt anglers the only way to get the odds more in your Favor is time on the water.

Keep an eye on major bite times and try adding a garfish to your spread. Excitingly Small Marlin were spotted off the back of the five-fathom bank as well this week. It really is one of those years where we have seen fish that we often drive along the way north to try to catch.

We have seen a few good King George whiting coming through with 28 to 34 metres a good area to just simply drift through with a Vexed Bottom Noster rig.

Beaches we are seeing a few more numbers of smaller mulloway off the back of what’s been a good Tailor season. Bread and butter herring and whiting are still going well.

Our estuary is entering one of its best times of the year as well with generally the largest crabs for the season on offer over the next 3–4 weeks. Our Herring Tailor and Salmon will only become more and more active as well, The clearer Autumn weather will help with more consistent squidding combine this with the general easing of winds this time of year and our options will really start to open up.

This Saturday the 15th The Falcon Vets footy crew are holding a Crabbing comp at the Dawesville Marina registrations from 7am for a fun morning on the water.

Wherever you get the chance this weekend as always good luck tight lines and remember every day’s a good day for fishing.
