Weekly Winner | Maddie with a triple header KG

Crays, still in a holding pattern but we are seeing signs of progress. Tight on the beaches we are now seeing a mix of reds and whites the whites have shed and in a holding phase as their shells harden and the conditions que them to bunch up ready to walk. The mix of Reds and whites is interesting will we see a moult over two cycles due to the cooler water temps. Watch this space as we see it we will keep you updated.

We have the dates for the First Roe Abalone opening of the upcoming season Saturday the 13th of December we will keep you posted as we get closer.

Freshwater conditions are still good with good results coming from our dams, A great time of year to target a trout or two.

More Fads are rolling into the water this week keep an eye on the dept website for locations as they land in the drink. Approx 4 weeks and some warmer water we should hopefully see some pelagic action.

Visibility for the divers has been excellent over the past few days, tight inshore or out in 25m plus to best place for a feed of crays at the moment.

Our Estuary if a good place to wet a line at the moment stronger tides make for good water movement. Good water flow over the flats will stimulate a better bite. The slightly cleaner water also caries more bait meaning a better tailor and herring bite as well.

Offshore we have a good KG whiting bite, Also worth fishing the inside sand weed lines for bigger sand whiting up to 30cm.
