Tackle World Miami Weekly Fishing Report

Welcome to the long weekend edition of Tight Lines. Beach’s up first this week. We are seeing Solid Numbers of Herring and Whiting they are in good schools in the shallows and a good option early in the mornings. Those fishing the afternoons and early evening have had some exciting Tailor action, combining the twilight with the afternoon incoming tides and generally onshore winds the three key factors. A traditional Paternoster rig with a well-presented Mulie is still one of the best ways to target them.

After dark well-presented baits are attracting the attention of Mulloway a few of them getting over 10kg, and Pink Snapper it’s interesting how many Snapper have been caught even though the water is quite clear.

Speaking of visibility, the divers are having a great time at the moment. With amazing summer vis and good numbers of crays on the ledges. Keep a speargun with you as there have been good numbers of inshore pelagic’s buzzing divers in the shallows.

Inshore shallows are holding good Squid, Yellow Tail kings and Tailor. Gently backing up to any structure and having a few casts can be quite fruitful from all angles.

Crabs in the peel and the Swan are hitting their straps with good numbers and size in both waterways.

Offshore there are good numbers of Blue fin Tuna through 30’s and 40’s. A good mix in the spread of skirts and divers are the go.

Crays and Kgs for the lads, loving the summer

Summer fun Mandurah style crabbing at the foreshore

I recommend the Halco Max as your deep diver running close to the boat only 15 to 20 metres back then two skirts running 30 to 40mtrs back from the transom, The Halco max will troll up to 12 to 15 knots so used along side skirts we can troll at the optimum speed for your skirts and the deep diver will also be swimming well.
