Tight Lines – 26th September
September 26, 2024

Welcome to this week’s edition of Tight Lines

A Classic spread of springtime fishing throughout the Peel Region over the past week or so.

Beaches first this week where we are slowly seeing a few more bread and butter species like Herring and Whiting, as the spring conditions slowly take over from the depths of winter. The better catches are still on the northern Mandurah beaches where larger tailor are still doing well.

Our Rock walls groins are slowly improving as well with plenty of Herring and Juvenile Salmon, the clearer incoming tide also carrying a handful of Tailor.

Crays are fantastic in pots this time of year and anglers setting pots in or up against the reef with nice fresh bait are doing well. And as another one percenter we are heading into the darker phase of the moon over the next 7 days which will keep the Crays active and out and about.

Offshore Action has been exciting with some very special Sized Dhu fish well into the 20kg mark. Great Pink Snapper with the classic anchor and berley Technique.

Plus some Pelagic action with some fun sized Yellow Tailed Kingfish. Also the awesome west coast sized kidney-slapping sized King George Whiting!

Wherever you get the chance to wet a line this weekend as always, good luck tight lines, and remember every day’s a good day for fishing.
