Tight Lines – 30th May
May 30, 2024

Welcome To This Week’s Edition Of Tight Lines

A week of two halves in the world of fishing, those that managed to get out before mother nature flicked the switch were certainly rewarded.

Offshore saw some nice DhuFish with a good bite pre storm.

Those that dropped out a spread of lures enjoyed some late Autumn pelagic action. Check out the super Spaniard that Jake boated just south of Rotto. Land based the pre storm bite helped Kade land a serious 94cm Pink Snapper from the sand.

Niki was all smiles when she landed her first ever Pink Snapper from our inshore reefs and Rick was pleasantly surprised when he caught a BlueFin Tuna while using the anchor and berley technique for Snapper. Not a regular thing but i’ve had it happen before myself.

Post storm things will change For beach goers, new gutters will be formed, old gutters may not be there, some areas will hold weed and beach access may be different.

There are lots to like about a good blow as well, the dirty water brings on a good Snapper and Mulloway bite.

There should be some nice deep gutters full of Herring and Whiting nice and close for an easy cast. Just take a little extra care when driving. What was a nice wide sand strip last week, may be a narrow ramp this week.

Wherever you get the chance to wet a line this weekend as always, good luck tight lines, and remember every day’s a good day for fishing.
