Tight Lines – 31st March, 2025.

Welcome To This Week’s Edition Of Tight Lines!

Glenn with a nice local Dollie is this weeks standout catch winner!

Another crazy week of Pelagic fishing off our Mandurah and Dawesville coast, with good sized Dollies and Wahoo being landed. Dolphin Fish are holding on around the Fads while the Wahoo are popping up anywhere from outside 30 meters to the Fads themselves.

John with a cool local Wahoo!

More Marlin were also caught off our coast out wider in the 200 to 250 meter line heading North to the Rottnest trench. We expect the pelagic action to remain until the winter fronts start in earnest late May or June.

The advice at the moment is to keep lures in the water – trolling a spread of 3 to 5 lures a mix of divers and skirts plus a teaser or two. If you need a hand to get started, call in, we can help you to have a go at this exciting style of fishing.

With the New Moon we saw on Saturday night at the Beach, Inshore, Groin, and Estuary Fishing will be on fire with the best bite times to be around the late arvo early evening. The new Moon often means a better Tailor and Mulloway Bite.

Bread and Butter Herring, Whiting and Skippy are Fishing well, and this time of year surface lures are one of the best ways to catch them. Light 1-3 kg rods and light 3-5gm lures. Combined with a bit of practice on your technique and there are hours of fun to be had by any angler.

The slightly dirty inshore water and dark moon phase will also be good for crays in pots and those that like to target shore based Demersal’s especially Pink Snapper. And remember Tuesday the 1st of April is the opening of our 4-month Demersal season April, May, June and July.

Wherever you get the chance this week as always good luck tight lines and remember every day’s a good day for fishing.
