Welcome to this week’s edition of Tight Lines
Autumn time is one of the best times of year on the salty brine.
Firstly, to our migrating Aussie Salmon – The Cape’s region to our south is quite simply going off with regular large schools up the west side, and rounding the cape around to Bunker Bay. We have also seen small groups of fish make their way into the Peel Region. It’s only early so fingers crossed we start to see some bigger schools over the next week or so.
The demersal season opening has seen some good Dhu fish, Baldchin, Breaksea and Snapper in local waters, With the 30 to 50 metre mark productive.
Our inshore reef system is also productive with Yellowtail King fish and Bluefin tuna on the troll plus good skippy on the anchor. If your burley trail is working well don’t be surprised if a few solid Sambos turn up and terrorize your floating baits.
For a little quieter session check out the size of the Sand Whiting on the edge of the sand and the weed inside the 5-fathom bank.
Our Estuary has also seen some better activity from our local crabs over the past 7 days.
Wherever you get the chance to wet a line this weekend as always, good luck tight lines, and remember every day’s a good day for fishing.
