Tight Lines – 5th January 2024
January 05, 2024

Welcome to this week’s edition of Tight Lines!

Offshore first up this week, and while the summer winds haven’t provided many opportunities, those that have committed to the small windows on offer have reaped the rewards.

With some good size Dhu’s and Baldchin coming over the gunnel.

And if King George is your thing check out Pete Darch’s 57cm cracker his smile says it all.

For local crabs an early start is the best way to get more size crabs in your bag.

The Dawesville Cut is holding Herring Tailor and Squid.

On our beaches, the dominant easterly winds give you the opportunity to target late afternoon whiting on the high tide.

This Monday the 8th of January at 12 noon, it’s the start of this year’s Marron Season! Our local southwest freshwater delicacy has a vast array of rules for all the different water systems, hence its worth a quick check of the rules just to be sure before you start.

WIN a $50 voucher every week!

We’re looking for local legends who are getting out there and wetting a line during our Demersal Open Season.

Send us your catch of the week and every week we’ll select ONE winner who will receive a $50 Tackle World Miami voucher.
