Marron rules vary between waterways, so be aware of the rules for each different waterway before you start. They are our unique freshwater crayfish and super tasty.

This Saturday morning the 10th of Jan is also the second of the 1-hour west coast region Roe Abalone sessions from 7-8am in the morning.

Logan with a nice vibe caught YFW

Crays keep your pots on hard bottom with a nice covering of weed for best results. This time of year, you will get better results by doing two or three day pulls as the first cray is the hardest on to get into the pot.

Smiles all round when the inshore Sambos turn up Caty with a memorable catch

Crabs as we are in a waning moon phase we tend to find the better crabs in deeper water. We also find you’re a better chance of good-sized crabs early in the morning or just going into dark.

The past week or so we have seen two Marlin caught between Mandurah and Rottnest. Signalling the start of the Metro pelagic season in a big way. Add to this the capture of local Yellow fin and Blue fin Tuna, plus local Shark Mackerel and the arrival of Dollies on metro fads its time to dust off the trolling and casting gear.

Sunset Squid on the top of the tide thumbs up all round

Beaches are fishing strong for Tailor, Herring, whiting, and small sharks.

Our Estuary and rock walls and groins are fishing strong for YF whiting, Squid, Herring, Skippy and Tailor.

And kids good luck this weekend at the Annual Falcon Lions club and Tackle World Miami Kids Fish comp at Falcon Bay.
