Welcome to this week’s edition of Tight Lines
First up this week the department has opened this Saturday morning the 9Th of March to a one-hour Roe Abalone session. This session replaces the one cancelled due to weather earlier in the year. Stay safe on the shallow reefs and good luck.
The crews that fished the Fremantle Sailing clubs Blue Marlin Classic last weekend had some solid Metro action with the stats of 13-12-2 with 2 hooked fish estimated to be up near the 700lb mark.
Locally a couple of small pulses of swell have been enough to stir up the water enough for a couple of nice Shore based Pink Snapper with both Keaton and Chad getting amongst them. Remember under the new management package demersal fish can be caught from the shore all year round.
As we dip into Autumn the anticipation of one of our Favorite land-based options starts to build with the Western Angler Salmon Slam competition getting underway.
There are already reports of Salmon starting to school up along our South Coast with some solid 80cm fish logged onto the Salmon Slam app. Will they make it up to the metro region this year only time will tell.
Wherever you get the chance to wet a line this weekend as always, good luck tight lines, and remember every day’s a good day for fishing.
