Tight Lines – July 3rd
July 03, 2025

Welcome to this week’s edition of Tight Lines, your go-to source for the latest Mandurah fishing conditions. From offshore adventures to estuary escapades, we’ve got the local insights to keep your lines tight.

Troy tipping the scales over 23KG with this monster Dhu

A productive week’s fishing in the Peel region, as you can see from the variety of pics coming through.

Offshore first, and Troy made the most of some nice evenings earlier in the week, capitalising on a good bite time and a weather window. The bigger Dhu, tipping the scales over 23kg, was enough to make anyone red in the face on the lift. Great fish.

Lucus has also put his hat in the ring with a beautifully conditioned Dhu. I’m pretty sure he is still smiling as well.

Inshore, James has tangled with a few fun-sized Sambos. They always give anglers a good test with any gear.

Our land-based fishos have also done well, with Polly getting amongst the squid. Sunrise and sunset, with slow water movement, have been the best times.

Benny has kept up his good form in our rivers with another great Mulloway on light tackle. Cooper has got amongst some solid tailor, and Chris and Vince have both bagged nice land-based pinks.

The best opportunities this week look to be Friday afternoon through to early Saturday morning, then Wednesday and Thursday next week. Inshore and land-based snapper will certainly be on the radar.

The sunrise high tide could also be good for tailor along our beaches. Saturday morning should also still be good for bread-and-butter herring on our sheltered rock walls and groins. Our rivers will also be a good place to shelter from the weather and wet a line, especially before the bulk of the fresh water comes down from the hills.

Wherever you get the chance this week as always good luck tight lines and remember every day’s a good day for fishing.
